Jaron Smith

Assistant Coach, Ground Control Wrestling Club

Jaron Smith shows up with relentless energy every single time he steps on the mat, whether as a competitor or a coach. A two-time Maryland State Champion from Columbia, Maryland, Smith went on to wrestle eight years at the University of Maryland, refusing to let three season ending surgeries or a global pandemic derail his goals. He turned down a WWE contract offer to return for his eighth and final season and finished his college career as a two-time NCAA Division I National Qualifier and 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials Qualifier. Now every athlete who steps on the mat with him becomes a better wrestler and an even better person.
